Ivar Arnesen
Job: Freelance (cartoons-)translator, also doing cheap and nasty guitar-repair work for people who really know I shouldn't be doing that.
Started playing: Started in 1975 I think, some guys at school had started a band, and played "Get Back" at a school-dance. "I could do that" led me out on the long and winding road to eternal GAS and late nights and broken strings. Don't regret a thing.
Main gear: Constantly changing, due to an ill-tempered case of GAS. Currently my deformed Fender 1979 Strat( Wilkinson trem, Single-single-hum pickups), a parts-o-caster with two HB's and a stop tailpiece, an Ibanez TCY-10 electro-acousic, two different mandolins, and my slidewonder; an 60's Hopf Special semi, bought for eh, about 25 pence at a yardsale, and outfitted with two P-90 pickups. Oh, and my only "vintage" guitar, a 3/4 scale Silvertone (basically a Dano U-1) from 1956, painted red, white and blue by some Buck Owens-loving Texan, and tuned up to A. Sounds more or less like an electric twelve-string to my amusement.
Favourite music: Led Zeppelin, John Hiatt, Crowded House, Gary Moore, Beatles, Ry Cooder, UKMG, anyone that makes music that touches me.
